1 Timothy 6:10
“ For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs."
Having money or even working hard to earn a living to buy the things we all need in life isn’t evil. As a young person starting my career I always tried to keep this verse in the forefront of my mind. I wondered, “Will I pull away from trusting in God if someday I earn enough money to buy myself what I want?”
Living with an open hand will keep you from the evil of money. Giving releases us from an attachment to the things of the world. You might not be blessed with the gift of singing, or preaching or in ministry but we all have been blessed with a measure of manna, so let’s be faithful with whatever measure God has given us. Let’s live a life with open hands unto the Lord and be ready to meet whatever need God places before us.
