Put on that Armor!

Ephesians 6:10-20  (NKJV)
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the [a]wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.  Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Residing in San Diego we have all either come across someone or are related to someone who has been in the military, or perhaps even served personally. It is amazing how much training these folks put in preparedness for combat, especially the special forces. I once spoke to a Navy Seal and he was very passionate about his work and dedicated to give his all especially when it came to training. He stated, “I have to prepare myself for whatever task is put in front of me regardless of how difficult it may be”.

I believe we can all relate when it comes to our walk. It is so important to be in the Word daily, preparing ourselves for whatever trial or tribulation comes our way. Not waiting until that moment is key, we must put on the entire armor of God and allow the Holy Spirit to guide us daily.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths”.  When those difficult times come we must rely on the Lord and rest assured that he will guide our path. We serve a God full of Love, Mercy and Grace. He will never leave us nor forsake us. What an amazing God we serve!
