about

“Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all  your soul, and all your strength.
And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when  you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear  them on your forehead as reminders. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. " - Deuteronomy 6:4-9
It has been said and felt by many a Christian: Home is the hardest place to live out your faith!
And yet, in the days that are before us home is where it’s at!

Home is my mission field. Home is my “neighbor” Home is where God wants me to grow.

Martin Luther was a monk for many years, but during the Reformation he did get married. I love what he wrote, “Marriage is a better school for the character than any monastery,” he observed, “for it is here that your corners are rubbed off.”

Let’s embrace this season for His glory. Rather than just let these times “happen” let’s be proactive and intentional.

Here are ways we want to encourage us as a church @ home.

1. Daily Devotionals.
Everyday we are going to send out a devotional for you and your family to read over (there will be a short video too) with some discussion questions (but you can create your own if you’d rather.)  And we are going to encourage you to write a devotional and submit it to us so that we can send it to the whole church family!
In my home, we don’t do this. But we are going to create a new habit in this unique season and maybe you can too.

2. Sundays.
Church time! Join us for our regular Bible study @10 am. And don’t forget to visit our Calvary SD App for Kids Church too!

3. Mondays.
Our Sunday Calvary Kids Church will be posted to all platforms for availability.

4. Tuesdays.
At noon we will put up either a diving deeper video OR an interview that will engage us in life issues.
If you can’t watch it then don’t worry. It’ll be available from that time on all our platforms.

5. Thursdays
We will be hosting special live content on Facebook. Whether it be an interview, discussion group or hosting a live LIVE Q & A on Facebook to talk about issues relevant to that week’s message as well as to pray for those in need. If you can’t watch it live don’t worry. It’ll be available from that time on all our platforms.

Beyond that we @CalvarySD want you to know that we are praying for you and are available to you. If you need any assistance please let us know and we will do our best.
And let’s not forget: Home is when, it is where and it is towards those I choose to love for God’s glory. We might be @home but let’s spread the “heart of home” to others too.

This is the time to LIVE to be LOVED and to LOVE.

Your friends,
Calvary SD Staff
